United RV is a company that has served as a one-stop shopping service for RV owners and buyers for the last 50 years. There's a brick and mortal location in Fort Worth, TX, and from RVs to parts and services - we've got it all.
Moving our inventory online was met with success, but it didn’t come without its set of challenges.
Together with agency Bamboo, I went on a mission to keep what was working well with our online store while also increasing the effectiveness of our online ads. That's when my search for a feed optimization solution started and I found DataFeedWatch.
I’ll share some of the struggles we were dealing with and how I used DataFeedWatch to solve them, while also increasing the conversion rates for our products.
We started looking for a feed management solution because of the following problems we were facing:
Adding DataFeedWatch to our online selling strategy was exactly what we needed. Not only did they help us optimize all our product data and keep our data organized while migrating sites, but they also opened up the opportunity to enhance all our product titles according to Google's best practices in one fell swoop.
So when DataFeedWatch released its AI capabilities, it piqued our curiosity.
AI-optimized titles take the information from a product feed and create new, smart titles based on industry best practices. We were very eager to try it out and see what kind of results we could get.
At first, we applied AI optimization to two product categories to test it out. We started with a few low-risk products that had good sales volume but weren’t our most important products. Then we monitored the conversion rates of the ads after these new tiles went live.
Instead of having to create our own rules for each product category which requires additional research, we could now simply choose the 'Optimize with AI' option and get new titles with the click of a button.
We noticed an uptick in results the very next day after pushing AI-generated titles live, and those results continued. After seeing those results, we expanded AI-generated titles to a larger group of products and continued seeing the same improvement in results.
Since we were satisfied with what we were seeing, we decided to use AI-generated titles for all our 3.5k products. First we began with Google Shopping and then applied the same strategy to our Facebook ads.
For the first product category we tested we saw a 17% increase in conversion rate over two weeks.
Here are the results in Google Analytics:
For the second set of product titles, we saw a 44% increase in conversion rate over a two week period.

We also have been using DataFeedWatch's Managed Service which gives us access to a team of feed experts to outsource product feed management and optimization tasks. This was a great option for me, because while I had a deep understanding the importance of product feeds, I realized there were more thorough optimizations I wanted to perform but simply didn’t have the time to execute them to the standard I would have liked.
Using managed services means I can entrust my dedicated feed expert with my vision and know that they’ll take care of the execution. For example, I can specify the custom labels I want to use, like segmenting our top-selling products, without having to manage the technical details myself.
Another key priority for me was ensuring that Google displayed a specific freight shipping cost in our ads, and they seamlessly handled that setup as well.
We now have a strategy to apply to all new products we add to our online store that lets us scale the optimization of our product titles with ease with the use of AI. That, coupled with the hands-on support of DataFeedWatch’s Managed Service has given us more time that we can use to continue growing our business.
